walk of fame – art installation for the handball world championship 2015 in doha, qatar

installation consisting of 24 country platforms with a length of 7.5 meters each. total length – 200 meters

each country is represented by 17 to 25 players, symbolized by 17 to 25 untreated & corroded metal steles with different corrosion stages expressing the uniqueness of each player.

every stele is equipped with a laser cut steel plate, representing the name and jersey number of the respective player including his original signature and original 3d handprint in acrylic resin placed on top, highlighted by a led light source.

the 3d handprints of the world champions are plated in gold, the second and third received silver & bronze.

a team of 40 members worked hard and on an extremely tight schedule of just 6 weeks for the successful realization of this project.
